Clay mitts are generally more durable and faster for full-vehicle decontamination, while clay bars offer more precision for smaller areas.

An IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe-down is the final step before applying a coating, sealant, or wax. It removes any remaining oils, polish residue, and water spots that could compromise bonding. A 50/50 IPA and distilled water solution applied with a clean microfiber towel is the standard method, leaving the surface completely clean and ready for product application.
