Join us for a special two-day, hands-on Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating Training featuring guest instructor Pete Tan (@pete_details).

Pete is known for his experience in advanced paint correction, rotary polishing, wet sanding, paint diagnosis, and high-end detailing. He has corrected thousands of high-end vehicles and trained hundreds of detailers in person, with an approach focused on understanding why a process works, not simply memorizing steps.

This class is designed for novice to intermediate detailers who want to improve their paint correction and ceramic coating skills, become more confident working on customer vehicles, and learn techniques they can immediately put to work in their businesses.

Rather than focusing on one specific product or coating brand, this course is about developing the fundamental skills and understanding that can be applied across different products, machines, pads, compounds, polishes, and coatings.

Paint Correction

Paint correction can be one of the most intimidating parts of professional detailing. Understanding paint, abrasives, machines, pads, and polishing techniques changes that.

During this class, we'll break down the science and process behind paint correction so you understand what is actually happening to the paint and how to make better decisions on every vehicle.

With Pete's extensive experience in advanced correction, students will have the opportunity to learn techniques and processes used on real-world, high-end correction jobs.

Topics include:

• Understanding automotive paint systems

• Proper paint inspection and defect identification

• Determining what defects can and cannot safely be removed

• Pad, compound, and polish selection

• Understanding cutting and finishing cycles

• Dual-action and rotary polishing techniques

• Proper machine control

• Removing swirls, oxidation, scratches, and other defects

• Wet sanding fundamentals and when sanding may be appropriate

• Refining paint after aggressive correction

• Working efficiently without sacrificing quality

• Developing a repeatable paint correction process

• Avoiding common mistakes that cost detailers time and money

The goal isn't simply to show you how to polish a car. We want you to understand paint correction well enough that you can evaluate a vehicle, choose the appropriate process, and confidently adjust when conditions change.

Ceramic Coating

Great ceramic coating results begin long before the coating bottle is opened.

We'll walk through the entire coating process, starting with proper preparation and finishing with installation, inspection, curing, and customer maintenance.

You'll learn:

• Proper washing and decontamination before coating

• How paint correction affects the final coating result

• Final surface preparation

• Proper coating application techniques

• Understanding working time and environmental conditions

• Identifying and preventing high spots

• Leveling and removal techniques

• Coating paint, wheels, glass, trim, and other surfaces

• Final inspection procedures

• Curing considerations

• Maintenance recommendations

• Preventing premature coating failures and customer callbacks

This is not a brand-specific ceramic coating certification class. The focus is on understanding the fundamentals of ceramic coatings and developing installation techniques that can be applied to a variety of professional coating systems.

We're excited to have Pete Tan (@pete_details) joining us as a special instructor for this class.

Pete has built his reputation around high-level paint correction and education, with particular experience in rotary polishing, wet sanding, paint diagnosis, and advanced correction techniques. He has worked on thousands of high-end vehicles and has trained hundreds of detailers in person.

Having Pete in the shop gives students an opportunity to learn directly from someone who has spent years performing advanced correction work and teaching other detailers how to become more confident behind a polisher.
